This website is part of a three-stage learning experience that I have been developing over several years. Each stage is designed to support individuals in their efforts to be independent good thinkers and productive life-long learners. Would you like to discover
an easy and intelligent way to understand universally important ideas? The first stage of this learning experience is appropriate for children and adolescents as well as adults. Success at the second and third stages requires a mature outlook and a wide range of life experiences. The pace you set yourself is up to you. If you are wondering what to expect, you'll discover more as you scroll down your screen... How much time will you need to allocate to this learning experience? Twenty-four (separate)
hours online is usually all that it
takes for
most
people to have a beginning level of awareness of what I mean by
considerate democracy and sustainable living - recognising that the two
concepts are
intertwined.
However, it is very important to remember that such topics cannot be understood on a purely intellectual level. Nor can they be understood just by observing social and political life. A clear understanding of considerate democracy and sustainable living is based on practical experience and ongoing reflections. How might you contribute to knowledge about sustainable living and considerate democracy? There is plenty of information elsewhere online about most aspects of sustainable living. This current scroll down your screen will therefore introduce you mainly to the practical features of considerate democracy - the most important component of sustainable living in the modern world. The first step, beginning now, is to enhance your skills of independent good thinking, even if you think your mind is already quite brilliant! An autonomous, non-arrogant mind is the most important tool for the intelligent and courageous expression of considerate action. The intermediate, "open-access but password-protected" areas of camaggi.com (introduced earlier) usually require between thirty and fifty one-hour visits to complete. During the middle stage of training, you will receive an essential and thorough grounding for expressing considerate democracy in your life - in intelligently critical, compassionate, creative and sustainable ways. How do you express
respect for reasonable limits? As already mentioned, there are many websites that explore ideas about sustainable living. However, most of the people who maintain those sites forget to mention anything at all about considerate democracy. Here at camaggi.com, I hope to redress the balance. Using this website for teaching or training purposes requires completion of a process of assessment and licensing. You will learn more about training and assessment as you scroll down your screen. In the meantime, you may like to think about the features that you believe should be part of a considerately democratic learning experience. Perhaps you would like to write some notes about your views - and perhaps even send them to me. Would you like to make
information from camaggi.com available through other websites/sources? To respect my intellectual, literary and privacy rights, please let me know if you find my work elsewhere online, or on paper. With few exceptions, permission to copy any part of camaggi.com has not been granted to any person or organisation (including online libraries and archives), except as outlined below. How might I support
your learning?
I currently allow each of camaggi.com's visitors to save a copy of this home page for their own private study purposes, in a personal home computer, for no longer than 30 days. Other html pages from camaggi.com should not be copied, especially as the content changes very frequently. I like to edit my writings as often as possible to ensure their accuracy. Like the rest of this website, my home page is constantly being updated. In view of this, please remember to delete this page from your computer files after 30 days and then use the updated copy. Thank you. There are a few pdf
files that you may
encounter during your explorations of camaggi.com. These may
be copied and shared in printed form, as long as the
content is not changed in any way. The purpose of those documents
is to support
your
practical involvement in the development of considerate democracy.
* How to be a successful student and practitioner This website is a learning tool for me, as well as for visitors here. My home page introduces just a few of the ethical considerations for considerate democracy. One example is here. As long as the copyright notices and other guidelines within camaggi.com are respected, the main results of my research will be available through the first two levels of this website - without fees or similarly excluding restrictions. I am continually trying to improve the Virtual Academy of Considerate Democracy Please let me know if YOU can help! Relax and enjoy reflecting on your thoughts as you continue this gentle scroll down your screen... |

You are invited to answer the reflective questions posed throughout camaggi.com. For someone who is serious about gaining a deeper understanding of the relationship between sustainable living and considerate democracy, the reflective processes will probably add quite considerably to the time it takes to read each page here. This especially applies to the scroll you are now experiencing. What does it mean to reflect on ethics and
morality?
Consideration is the basis of a mutually acceptable social life. You have already been introduced to some of the ethical considerations for a considerately democratic relationship between yourself, as a visitor to this website, and myself, as its author and publisher. Review your understanding here. There are many simple, easy-to-learn activities that can provide a fair and realistic approach to the natural, cultural, social and political worlds. One such activity is the reflective approach to thinking and making decisions that I have already introduced. For example, as a considerately democratic person yourself, you might frequently reflect upon your understanding of, and answers to, the following questions: What
does
it mean to be friendly?
What does it mean to think well? What does it mean to act well? What is your relationship with time? How to make the most of your learning experiences here at camaggi.com: Step One Identify the ideas that you believe to be your most
important
thoughts. Write about those thoughts on some scrap
paper. If you are unsure
about what your most important thoughts and beliefs might be, some
helpful
preliminary
questions are here.
Step
Two
Step Three Sequentially number the envelopes and write a note on each, to indicate the page of camaggi.com to which your response refers, the topic and section in question, and the date of your reflections. Step Four Put the envelopes into a cardboard box (perhaps one with just a slot in the top or side, like a post box) and keep the box somewhere near to your most valuable material possessions - to ensure that your thoughts will not become lost! More about
the reflective learning process: The best time to open the first envelope will be a couple of weeks after you receive a camaggi.com open-access password - preferably just after you have repeated the process of reflecting on, and writing about, the topic in question. Open one more envelope each time you complete another hour here. You might find it useful to refer to at least one book about the theoretical foundations of considerate democracy. Between visits to camaggi.com, examine the environment in which you live, identifying the factual extent of considerate democracy as observed through your daily interactions and observations. If you are already feeling confident about your own understanding of considerate democracy...
There
is certainly plenty to think about!

BEGINNING SECTION B Democracy
without ideology -
is it really possible? |
|
The
main purpose of my own writing, research and educational activities is
to
enhance understanding.
Would you like to use
this website
as a research or study tool? You may like to use camaggi.com for formal research or study purposes, or seek some individual guidance from me about a considerately democratic approach to your own investigations. If so, it might be best to begin by completing the first two levels of the course I am introducing here. By visiting camaggi.com for a couple of one-hour sessions each week over twelve weeks, you will also begin to have a basic understanding of the research I have been conducting, and about my findings. Would you like to use
information from this
website
in a media context? The way you communicate with other people, including me, is an essential part of your approach to considerate democracy. This applies whether such communication is on an interpersonal basis or through some form of media. If you would like to quote from, or comment upon, this website in any media context, whether in the popular, community or academic traditions, a sufficient understanding of my ideas and methods will probably require completion of at least the first two levels of the course about considerate democracy. How much
do you

I am continually
developing this
website, and a range of other resources, to encourage you to discuss
ideas about
humanity and considerate democracy with the
people in your life.
This approach provides an interesting starting point for mutual understanding, on both a local and global basis.
* Understanding humanity |

|
As
already mentioned,
your initial interactions with
camaggi.com will probably be enhanced if they are fairly relaxed
and informal.
A relaxed and informal approach may assist in making the process of reflection and learning both gentle and intelligent - towards yourself and towards other people. Much of the rest
of this page
is devoted to the above topic As the author of the camaggi.com home page, I would like its readers to reflect upon how they usually interact with someone whose way of life, age, temperament, educational attainment, cultural and material acquisitions, personal experiences, health needs, and points of view, may, or may not, be similar to their own. What have been
your own
experiences of, So far on this journey down my home page, you have been provided with a few insights into how I prefer to interact with people. How considerately democratic do you believe my approach to be? What have been your emotional reactions to the direct and open style of many of the questions already posed here? How
much do you know about
your own needs, policies, values and communications preferences? Please relax, dear visitor - I am not really asking you to tell me your answers to most of these questions (though you are most welcome to provide/request assistance and/or participate in the interactive opportunities offered through this website). Direct
questioning rarely leads
to accurate, straightforward answers! Your beliefs are your own property - and I am usually far too busy to reflect on the mind of anyone other than myself (except on a professional basis). If anyone else asks for your views, what might be their reasons for doing so? Is their questioning for your benefit, for their own, or for the benefit of others? Is their questioning of mutual benefit, leading to mutual understanding? Although I consider myself to be quite a friendly person, I also like being a rather private one. This is especially so in relation to the time and space needed for thinking in a reflective way about considerate democracy. You will find no images of me within this website. Nor are there many direct indications of my physical characteristics. You will, however, learn more about my reasoning for this as you explore camaggi.com. Even though I do not use my full name or first name here, you might be the sort of person who would feel better by thinking of me as having a courtesy title. The one I prefer is "Persona", as in Persona C A Maggi or Persona Maggi, or even Persona C A. But that is not at all essential. What I really do hope is that you will find camaggi.com to be interesting, useful and enjoyable - today, tomorrow, and forever... |

|
What sorts of questions have you already been asking yourself during this scroll? Which answers are you seeking, and why? As you explore camaggi.com, you will find that although it may look quite complicated on a superficial level, it really has just a simple, linear structure, with a variety of colour-coded detours along the way. There are several directions you may choose to follow within this website, though they are not meant to confuse you (even if you have some experience of colour blindness). Recommendations
I usually recommend circular journeys here as these enable the mind to become aware of its own development. It also prevents the reader from becoming lost or confused. Allow your own self-awareness to map out a route that is right for you. If you feel at all tired or overwhelmed or distracted, it is much better to pause than continue. Come back to this page whenever you think the links, or your daily activities, are taking you away from your goal. Do you already have a learning goal in mind? If so, what might it be? Progressing through the course
You will need to obtain one type of password or another to visit many of the detour pages here, though "open-access passwords" are currently freely available, with very few restrictions, to anyone who is attempting to understand considerate democracy, wherever such people may be in the world. If you have obtained access through such links without a password, please let me know. It is very important that I learn how to fix any technical problems associated with this website. Maintaining camaggi.com myself is one of the ways in which I ensure that my work remains totally independent. Without the passwords, my website will probably be ineffective as a learning tool - meaning that I might as well do something else with my time! Clicking one of the following links may help you to review your knowledge of considerate democracy. However, if this is your first visit to camaggi.com, scrolling may greatly enhance your awareness of my reasoning - and perhaps even improve your understanding of considerate democracy (which may already be much greater than my own). The decision on what to do
is up to you!

By
attempting to be a considerately democratic person myself, I hope that
I lead mainly by example.
What do you think it means to be a good leader? What do you think it means to have good values? You will also learn quite a lot about my values within this website. They are based on principles that I hope will support the development of considerate democracy. Mutual understanding often depends upon people agreeing to use the same definitions of abstract concepts. Definitions are one thing, but it is also important to provide examples of concepts in a practical context. This communication process assists people in their efforts to understand the meaning of considerate democracy in relation to their own lives and relationships. Considerately democratic people are often good leaders and good teachers. Are you one of them? |
|
Considerate
democracy, positive thinking,
mental well-being and social harmony are so much easier to attain and
sustain when people provide mutual support for each other, without
unwarranted dependency or exploitation.
My work attempts to encourage this. It also aims to promote mutual understanding, respect and appreciation.
What is recognition? Is it about the acknowledgement of needs and talents? What
are your own needs and talents?
